Hi guys just curious and would value your advice!!

I am planning to go back to thailand again in july. I simply cannot abide non direct flights and this therefore limits me to flying with thai/eva usually. Usually fly thai.

For the period i can fly flights currently coming in expensive ( a little under £700) that is the cheapest i can find (chcked southall, opodo, netflights etc).

Anyway, my question is this.. given the recent political turmoil in thailand do you guy's think flights will get cheaper, stay the same, or get more expensive as the departure date approaches?? Im not sure i wanna risk leaving it too late..as it is peak holiday season from the uk.

Thanks for the advice fellas!

HS

Ps: incidentally, I always used to find netflights (formerly airline network) the cheapest. Recently, this is no longer the case!!! and they are sometimes appreciably MORE expensive. I wonder if this has anything to do with the "part of the thomas cook group" which now appears on their website.

I think the flights will possibly get dearer, July is a pain in the arse cos of kids holidays.

Now Mexico is shut people will be looking for different venues and the people looking to go all the way to Mexico will be ok flying a long time to LOS. If Spain had to shut people would go to Portugal/Turkey not flying somewhere 2-3 times further away.

2 weeks ago when Qatar had their giveaway, although its a 1 stopover, flying and return in June from Man was £298. My dates on same offer (24th June to July 12th) was about £540

But then what do I know?

A couple of years ago Monty got a good value flight off Eva's own site that was cheaper than anywere else for the dates he wanted.

Use a screen scraper to check quite a few other places that we dont know about.

Found em

Momodo

Mobissimo

Also check travel jungle.

Usual crap be flexible, and join the frequent flyer program just for the hell of it!

How much you paying with Thai?

That Turkish deal I quoted was a limited deal, now over £400 for same flight now, just shows If your flexible on flights keep checking.

Just had a look on ebookers to check prices for September......London-Bangkok non-stop options are £420 on Eva and £499 on Thai.

Arab airlines, with stopover, are from £330 to £450...but I'll never fly with any of them.

Was looking at Hong Kong too......Virgin are coming in at £436,Cathay at £483. Its unusual for Cathay to be outgunned on their signature route.

Think I'll wait another month....the airlines are in trouble.
Same same....its NOT the fuckin same,is it?

Just booked a flight to BKK with Jet for £411 in February. Quite pleased with this deal, but I was puzzled that it was not readily available on all the usual sites. I booked through Travelocity, but sites like Netflights and eBookers were showing their cheapest flights at well over £500.

So it pays to check all the websites to get the best fares.

One feature I like about Travelocity (also Opodo and maybe others) is the ability to search for dates 3 days either side for outbound and return legs. It helps identify cheaper periods and trends. Useful for those with flexible dates.
